Falling Into Place Workshop

I was blown away by the amazing response that we had to the Abstract Art 101 workshop at Falling Into Place on February 28th! I still can't believe it filled up in just FOUR DAYS! It was a gorgeous spring day which worked perfectly for our exercise that we did outside.  I was super excited to have such enthusiastic and amazing attendees; we had a really great time learning about abstract art together.

Let's be honest, the best part is that we greeted attendees with a mimosa at the door. Yes. We did. I get excited when I can bring people together to teach and encourage them to use their creative gifts and explore their curiosities. Connecting and getting to know each other is a huge reason I love this class and love our little cocktail time for this reason. The weather was unseasonably warm for February and we got to enjoy the beautiful weather during a charcoal exercise in the sunshine. I loved getting to see everyone's original designs that reflected their unique personalities in their paintings. There was a lot of enthusiasm; the energy was so contagious! Everyone left saying they felt very relaxed, fulfilled, and thankful for the outlet of creative release that comes with workshop time.

I want to give a huge shout out to my sister, Savannah Kenney, for taking pictures, to Beth Winterburn for helping me out with instruction, and to Mary Claire White for opening her shop for this event. I am so thankful to work alongside such great friends and colleagues.

***** Because of the high demand of the Abstract 101 class, we are opening up another class, Abstract Art 101 on June 12th at Falling Into Place from 1-4pm. The last workshop filled up in four days to make sure you secure your spot early! I will also be hosting one more in the fall, but these are the only two classes I'm offering in 2016. *****
