Zelda Fitzgerald Paintings

Zelda, the artist!! ! A little known fact about Zelda Fitzgerald is that in addition to her career as a writer, she also painted. A lot of her work was lost when she died, but Art.com was able to get their hands on some pieces and these are available for sale. I love her colors and the circus-like vibe that get when I view these. I really want a print- I'm trying to figure out which one I need! These are my top favorite. Which one would you pick?

Shannon's Custom Painting

Shannon and her husband were wanting some bold pops of color for a piece above her mantle, namely lots of dark blue. She lives in Nashville and we were able to work together long distance using the "View it on Your Wall" feature, where I sent her pictures of her space with her mockup to scale on her walls until we arrived at the perfect piece and spot for this art.

After this version was created and she sat with it for a few weeks, they wanted less teal and more blue to go with some existing colors.  But then I heard the words that artists love to hear, " We changed our minds and have decided to work our living room around the painting and not the painting around the living room colors." Thanks for such a wonderful time working with you, Shannon!!

Lounge Time

I love this lounge chair in my backyard. A lot. A friend gave it to me when I took notice of it in his backyard. I used to find Penny lounged out on this (hence the janky seat cushion). I spray painted these rosemary pots and added them to the sides to anchor the chair and give it more of a setting.  Hello, little chair. I'm hoping to be a little lazy and get some lounge time this week...

Gatsby Tribute

I found this old watercolor sketch while cleaning out some closets this weekend. It reminds me of the illusive Gatsby character, Jordan Baker. Coy. Mysterious. Empty.  If you haven't seen the new version, get yourself to the theater at once!

Monday Mornings: Peony Bouquet

We were the last group to leave church yesterday, and on the way out they were disassembling the entry flowers, which could mean only one thing. I had to get my grubby little paws on some before they were taken away. Cindy told me to take a whole bunch and before she could finish giving me permission, I had gathered this bouquet. The peonies make me a little giddy- it's so hard to find them here! These are sitting on my dining room table today, sprucing up an ordinary Monday morning. Happy Monday, indeed!
